Bitmain announces the new 7nm Bitcoin Miner Antminer S15
Bitmain, the ASIC producer giant, has announced the incoming new 7nm Bitcoin Miner Antminer S15. The 7nm technology could bring high benefits to the mining process and Bitmain could hit hard the others ASIC producers.
Bitmain. 7nm could be a big improvement for the Bitcoin mining process
Here the Bitmain post on Twitter:
“We are officially announcing the release of our new 7nm miners which possess industry-leading hash rates designed to mine with the SHA256 algorithm. Two models will be offered, the Antminer S15 and T15. Available for purchase on 11/8.”
Here the reaction on Reddit:
If that’s true this is kind of a big deal. Around 7nm is where you start getting some light quantum side effects. You could very well be looking at one of the last large improvements in Bitcoin Mining software – ever.
For the record, researchers “have” made transistors as small as 1nm, but they are completely impractical and require other massive (relatively speaking) counterparts. The smallest feasible transistor is a 4nm one that Samsung hopes to commercialize in 2021.”
So, on 11/8 we’ll see if the S15 will be a game changer.
